Saeed Ajmal is a Pakistani cricketer. He is a right-arm off-spin bowler who bats right handed. With his effective doosra and other varieties he is considered to be one of the best spinners in modern world cricket.
At domestic level in Pakistan he has represented Faisalabad, with whom he won the 2005 ABN-AMRO Twenty-20 Cup; Khan Research Laboratories; and Islamabad.
Ajmal made his One Day International debut for Pakistan in July 2008 at the age of 30, and a year later played his first Test. In 2009 he was reported for having a suspect bowling action, but after being cleared he helped Pakistan win the 2009 ICC World Twenty20.
Ajmal played for Worcestershire as an overseas player in English domestic cricket in 2011. Since November 2011, Ajmal has been ranked by the International Cricket Council as the number one bowler in ODIs while Ajmal's ICC current test bowler ranking is number 2.
On 28 January 2012, in his 20th Test, Ajmal became the quickest Pakistani to take 100 test wickets.Saeed Ajmal also holds the record for taking maximum wickets(60) in Twenty20 International cricket.
A right-arm off spinner, Ajmal's stock delivery turns into right-handed batsman but he also frequently uses the doosra which turns the other way, and he generally bowls flatter than most off spinners. The doosra has been an effective tool for Ajmal as batsmen have often failed to pick it.

Shahid Afridi is a professional cricket player, who was born on March 1, 1980 in Khyber Agency, Pakistan. His parents are of the Afridi tribe in Kohat; he is married to Nadia and has two daughters, Aqsa and Ansha.

Nicknamed ‘Boom Boom Afridi’ for his aggressive batting style, Shahid Afridi is a brilliant all-rounder, as he is also a right-arm leg-spin or medium-paced bowler. In October 1998, he made his Test debut for the Pakistan team against Australia and became a reliable member of his side. Shahid Afridi scored five Test centuries in his career, as of the year 2008; three times against India (1999 and twice in 2006) and twice against the West Indies (2002 and 2005).

His first appearance in an One Day International (ODI) came on October 2, 1996 at Nairobi in a match played against the Kenya cricket team. He rose to become an indispensable member of the Pakistani ODI squad with his remarkable performances since 1996. By making the fastest hundred runs (included six boundaries and eleven 6’s) of 37 balls in an ODI match against Sri Lanka, Shahid Afridi beat the record of Sanath Jayasuriya, a famous Sri Lankan cricketer, on October 4, 1996. He was just 16 years, when he performed this feat and was the youngest player to have achieved such an accomplishment. With Brian Lara, he shares a joint record for scoring the third fastest ODI century out of 45 balls against India in April 2005. By making four of the top eight fastest ODI half centuries, Shahid Afridi has made a mark for himself in the history of ODI cricket. In 2007, he scored 32 runs (including four consecutive sixes) off six balls against Sri Lanka at Abu Dhabi. The over was bowled by Malinga Bandara which is considered to the second most expensive over in the ODI history.

In March 2005, his Test performance with the bat and the ball played a key role in Pakistan’s encounter against India. Shahid Afridi made 50 runs out of 26 balls and walked away with three wickets in the second innings of a Test match claiming the victory for his team and brought the series to a draw. In January 2006, he smashed four consecutive sixes against Harbhajan Singh’s bowling in a Test match against India. On achieving a combination of 5000 runs and 200 wickets, Shahid Afridi is the third player (after Sanath Jayasuriya and Jacques Kallis, a South African cricketer) to accomplish such a feat in the ODI history.

For his commendable performances as a bowler of the Pakistan team in the international 2007 Twenty20, Shahid Afridi earned the Man of the Series award.

He represented the Deccan Chargers (DC) team under the captaincy of VVS Laxman, an Indian cricketer, in the Indian Premier League (IPL) of 2008. His sign-in price was $675,000 and played thirty matches for the DC team. Shahid Afridi scored 367 runs, which included 32 boundaries and 21 sixes with a strike rate of 171.49. By taking 35 wickets, the bowling average of Shahid Afridi was 20.05 at an economy rate of 6.81.

One of three brothers to play - and keep wickets - for Pakistan, Adnan is the best pure wicketkeeper of the trio; he replaced elder brother Kamran in the Test side when making his debut in October 2010 and he did nothing thereafter to dispel that assessment.

Had it not been for a selection miscommunication back in 2004, Adnan may have played for Pakistan much earlier and longer. Both Kamran and Adnan were called up by accident for a national camp before a tri-series tournament and after much confusion over who was wanted, Kamran was kept. The late Bob Woolmer, Pakistan's coach at the time, felt Adnan to be the best wicketkeeper in the country.


Consistent domestic success, however, and the continuing errors of Kamran kept him in the frame. Ultimately it took the flight of Zulqarnain Haider for him to earn a Test debut but polished performances over four Tests justified the pick. In his last Test he took eight catches, before he was surprisingly dropped from the Test side, without explanation in 2011.

LAHORE - Pakistan’s batsman wicket-keeper Umar Akmal announced that he was fit to play despite reports stating otherwise.
Talking to the reporters on Tuesday here at the Allama Iqbal International Airport after his return from West Indies, Umar said he would be meeting the acting Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Najam Sethi and would reveal all facts soon. “I have brought my medical reports with me and will show them to the chairman. I will also hold a press conference to clear the situation.”
He said this news made his family worried so media should avoid spreading such rumours. “When my family heard this news, it made them worried and they were anxious to talk to me to come know about my health. This is nothing but propaganda against me and I will clear my stance in a press conference after meeting with the acting PCB chairman.”
In a latest statement, the PCB said that Umar Akmal’s MRI tests have been taken and the board would soon take any decision about it.
It is likely that the PCB will issue an explanatory letter to Umar in which he will be asked to explain his stance.
The PCB has pulled the 23-year-old batsman from the squad set to tour Zimbabwe and that he had been called back from the West Indies for fitness problems. “Umar has immediately been called back," a PCB statement said. “He will undergo a complete medical examination to reassess the level of his fitness, meanwhile, the national selection committee has proposed the name of Sarfraz Ahmad as his replacement for Pakistan one-day and T20 squads for the upcoming tour of Zimbabwe.”
Meanwhile, a person close to Umar also told the media that the batsman had suffered a seizure during a flight to Jamaica and spent a night in hospital. Umar had been playing for Barbados Tridents in the ongoing Caribbean League after Pakistan's recent tour to the West Indies.

Kamran Akmal may well be the most emphatic proof of cricket's changed priorities post Adam Gilchrist. Sides now search for an explosive batsman who can change a day, an innings, a phase with the bat and so long as you can identify right wicketkeeping glove from left, the place is yours.There has been little doubt about Akmal's batting. The purity of his drives and the strength of his cutting and pulling, particularly on slower subcontinent surfaces, has always held a strong allure. And when it comes together as it did one January morning in Karachi against India - one of the Test innings of that decade - he makes it in the side as a batsman alone.


But his glovework, which began so promisingly when he effectively ended the dogfight between Rashid Latif and Moin Khan in late 2004, has deteriorated alarmingly and few Pakistan matches are complete without a clumsy Akmal error. It wasn't always thus, for he was good when he began, good enough to impress Ian Healy. But non-stop cricket in all three formats have let technical errors creep in and critics and experts have long pushed for the need for him to take a break.To quality spin, he is often as lost as the batsmen and Danish Kaneria, over the years, has suffered in particular. In a string of error-ridden performances, the one nobody will forget will be the four dropped catches (and a missed run-out) in the Sydney Test of 2009-10, which allowed Australia to escape with a remarkable, traumatic win. Against this the memory of his Karachi hundred will always battle, with no clear winner ever likely to emerge. The tryst with controversy does his cause no good, with his refusal to accept his demotion from the side in the aftermath of a disastrous Sydney Test in 2009, eliciting a harsh fine and a disciplinary probation from the PCB.
